A Sweet Keto Tart Shell & Pie Crust

 

Keto pie crust and tart shell

This is the only recipe you will need to prepare any dessert with a crust such as a tart, pie, or cheesecake. 

This recipe for the dough only will produce a firm and crumbly crust! You may choose to "blind bake" the crust, partially or completely, before filling it to prevent it from getting a soggy bottom.

If preparing a crust, usually for a tart, where the filling will not have to be baked afterwords, you will want to blind bake the crust completely. 

    1. Make the tart crust by combining the Cookie Mix and butter until well incorporated. 
    2. Shape the crust into your pan.
    3. Poke holes into the bottom of the crust with a fork so that it puffs less when baking.
    4. Refrigerate the shaped crust for at least 30 minutes, or while the oven preheats, to help it hold its shape when baking.
    5. Preheat the oven on 350°F.
    6. Blind bake the dough for 18 minutes or until golden.
    7. When out of the oven, if the bottom has puffed, take a pestle or back of spoon and press the center down.
    8. If using a tart pan with a removable bottom, remove the the tart shell now and let cool before filling.
    9. Fill, refrigerate and enjoy!  

If preparing a crust for a pie or quiche where you will need to bake the filling, you will want to blind bake the crust partially. 

    1. Make the pie crust by combining the Cookie Mix, butter and egg until well incorporated. 
    2. Shape the crust into your pan.
    3. Poke holes into the bottom of the crust with a fork so that it puffs less when baking.
    4. Refrigerate the shaped crust for at least 30 minutes to help it hold its shape when baking.
    5. Preheat the oven on 350° F.
    6. Blind bake the dough for 10 minutes or until semi-firm. Remove from the oven if you see that the crust is browning.
    7. When out of the oven, if the bottom has puffed, take a pestle or back of spoon and press the center down.
    8. Add your desired filling and baked according to your recipe. Keep eye out so that the edges do not burn.
    9. Remove from oven & enjoy!
